You remember that feeling.

One ball.

Everyone coming for you.

You didn’t outgrow it. You were built for it.

Ten teams.

One carrier.

Fight for every second.

From backyard chaos to professional sport

Before the highlights, there was the backyard.

Someone had the ball. Everybody wanted it.

No cameras. No crowd. Just the rush of staying on your feet for one more second. If that sounds familiar, you already know the feeling.

NCBL is building the next chapter: a proposed professional Carrierball league with distinct teams, a championship to chase, and athletes you can get behind. The backyard had the game. We're building its next stage.

The game, clear in 15 seconds

One carrier. Nine challengers. Ten teams.

The Carrier

One athlete controls the ball. Take a step with possession and every completed second of qualifying possession earns a point for your team.

  1. 1

Ten teams compete simultaneously, with one athlete from each team on the field.

  2. 2

Control the ball, take a step, and earn one point for every completed second of qualifying possession.

  3. 3

Reach the small center circle — the Core — with possession for a bonus.

  4. 4

A legal down ends possession scoring; release the ball and the next possession begins.

  5. 5

Reserves rotate in, and team totals build toward match and season results.

On contact. The proposed format includes controlled, rugby-style tackling. Tackle technique, rules and safety procedures are part of what is being developed and tested before any competition takes place.

Proposed format. Rules and event procedures are being developed and tested. Core bonus value, field size and match duration are not final.

The founding thesis

A familiar idea. A different moment.

A new sport can be discovered one clip at a time, followed through its athletes, and experienced together in person. NCBL is being designed for that journey from day one.

  1. 01

    Still in the game

Your last season doesn't have to be your last competitive chapter. We're looking to hear from former football and rugby players, and athletes from soccer and other sports who bring speed, footwork, strength, and a competitive edge.

  2. 02

    Made to be followed

An escape gets your attention. An athlete gives you someone to follow. A team gives you a reason to come back. That's the audience we're working to build.

  3. 03

    Better in the same room

The plan is to pair live-event energy with a digital front row — so the story can travel beyond the field.

  4. 04

    The beginning is the opportunity

The athletes, fans, and partners who join now can help shape what Carrierball becomes.

Straight answers

Questions.

Is NCBL already playing?

No. NCBL is pre-launch. We're developing the Carrierball format and building the founding community of athletes, fans and partners.

When and where are tryouts?

Not yet announced. Join the athlete waitlist to hear tryout dates, locations and eligibility details when they're confirmed.

Who can register interest?

Adults aged 18 and over from football, rugby, soccer and other athletic backgrounds. Final eligibility and assessment requirements will be announced later, and registering interest does not guarantee selection.

Is this a contact sport?

Yes. Controlled rugby-style tackling is part of the proposed format. Before any contact event, competition will require finalised rules, qualified medical and safety oversight, and appropriate coverage.

Can businesses own teams?

Current inquiries are for sponsorship and partnership conversations. Team ownership or equity is a separate question and is not offered through this site.

What happens after I sign up?

Your details are saved securely to NCBL's interest list. No automatic emails are sent today. When there's real news — tryout details for athletes, build updates for fans — the NCBL team will contact people who agreed to hear from us. Partner inquiries are saved for review, and NCBL may contact you at the email provided to discuss fit and next steps.
